Federal Ombudsman, Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi, has successfully intervened to address the longstanding problem faced by Pakistani citizens seeking to travel abroad for employment or higher education.
Previously, individuals were required to obtain an e-protector stamp on their passports before departing the country. However, the lack of a reliable and accessible online facility often led to delays and inconveniences for travelers.
In response to the issue, the Federal Ombudsman directed the Bureau of Immigration to establish an online e-protector facility. This facility is now available at all international airports in Pakistan on a 24/7 basis, ensuring that travelers can obtain the necessary stamp before their departure.
The e-protector stamp is mandatory for those traveling to the Middle East or other regions for employment purposes. Failure to obtain the stamp can result in denied boarding and loss of both foreign employment opportunities and travel expenses.
Since its implementation, the online e-protector facility has been utilized by 14,339 Pakistanis this year, providing a convenient and efficient solution for obtaining the required stamp.
The Federal Ombudsman’s intervention has significantly improved the travel experience for Pakistani citizens and demonstrates his commitment to addressing the concerns of the public.
