EasyPaisa Introduces Digital QR Payments at Amanat Eye Hospital

PR:  QR payments are making all the rage across developing countries and have come to Pakistan with the help of private companies setting foot in the game. Banking on its branchless banking service, Telenor Microfinance Bank has announced the introduction of QR payments, enabling its mobile account users. These payments are convenient, secure and purely digital.

Just last week, Easypaisa introduced QR Payments at Amanat Eye Hospital in Islamabad, facilitating the patients as well as caregivers. Besides hospitals and clinics, QR Payments also allows the Easypaisa users to make payments at thousands of retail outlets by simply scanning QR codes with their smartphones using the Easypaisa app. This innovative contactless payment system is one of the most secure and convenient modes of payment that completely eliminate the need to stand in queues for hours as well as the physical interchange of cash or swiping cards.

Shahid Mustafa, President & CEO – Telenor Microfinance Bank said,
“QR Payments are consistent with the Bank’s commitment to bring greater ease and access to our customers. We hope these payments enhance efficiency and productivity of individual users as well as businesses by simplifying the previously cumbersome payment processes.”
CEO Amanat Eye Hospital, Dr. Aamir Asrar while highlighting the significance of this modern payment method said:
“Easypaisa QR Payments are a disruptive payment technology and a great initiative to empower the society. In the month of Ramadan, I am pleased to announce a discount of 10% to anyone who pays via Easypaisa QR Payments at our hospital.”

“Our vision is to introduce simple and secure payments for the people in Pakistan and make their lives easier” said Rabia Atlas, Assistant Director Retail Payments – Telenor Microfinance Bank. “We at Easypaisa, work day and night to raise the standard of living of the Pakistani people by building innovative solutions which provide convenience.”

Easypaisa QR Payments are a versatile payment option for not just customer to business transactions but also business to business transactions. Merchants and SMEs can make their own QR codes to transact between them in the most secure and reliable way through Easypaisa.

Following the launch, Telenor Microfinance Bank also announced a 10 percent discount on all payments made through Easypaisa at the Amanat Eye Hospital. Ahmed Ali 32, an attendant at Amanat Eye Hospital tried his hands on the new service. “This is so convenient and enabling.” He commented excitedly. “Earlier I had to stand in a long queue before a payment counter to pay for the medical services but now I can make the payments in a jiffy. I feel empowered to carry out a task expediently that yesterday consumed most of my time here at the hospital.”
