Ignite National Technology Fund’s DigiSkills program is hosting a free live session on Mobile Game and App Development, scheduled for September 17, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, delivered through Microsoft Teams. The session is organized under the Ministry of IT and Telecom’s DigiSkills initiative, executed by Virtual University of Pakistan, and covers technical topics including ListView and ListViewBuilder, GridView, and Tween Animation and Lottie Animation, giving participants exposure to specific interface and animation components commonly used in mobile app and game development. Mobile Game and App Development is one of the newer courses introduced under DigiSkills 3.0, the programme’s third phase launched through a contract signed between Ignite and Virtual University aimed at training three million youth over three and a half years.

The live session format allows enrolled trainees to engage directly with course instructors in real time rather than relying solely on pre-recorded video content, a supplementary approach DigiSkills has used across its various course offerings to reinforce concepts covered in the core curriculum. DigiSkills 3.0 expanded the programme’s course catalogue to 25 offerings, up from 15 under DigiSkills 2.0, with Mobile Game and App Development sitting alongside other newly introduced courses like UI/UX and Web Flow, 3D Modeling, Cloud Computing, Shopify Development and Drop Shipping, and Artificial Intelligence using Python. The board allocated approximately Rs 1.79 billion for this phase of the programme when it was approved in April 2025, reflecting the scale of investment behind expanding DigiSkills beyond its original digital literacy and freelancing focus into more technically specialized areas like game and app development.

Since its inception in 2018, DigiSkills has trained several million participants from hundreds of cities across Pakistan, with women accounting for a substantial share of enrollments as the programme has continued to position itself as a tool for expanding participation in the country’s freelancing and IT sectors specifically among groups that have historically had less access to formal technical training. The programme’s most recent batch under DigiSkills 3.0 opened enrollment for 300,000 seats on a first-come, first-served basis, with trainees able to enroll in up to two courses simultaneously from the expanded 25-course catalogue, a structure that has consistently generated high demand in previous rounds, with seats filling before official deadlines in past batches.

For trainees currently enrolled in the Mobile Game and App Development course, sessions like this one covering practical implementation topics such as ListView, GridView, and animation techniques offer a chance to work through concrete technical skills relevant to building functional mobile applications and games, skills that could translate into freelancing or employment opportunities in Pakistan’s growing mobile app development market. The continued rollout of specialized live sessions alongside DigiSkills’ core course material reflects the programme’s broader strategy of using a mix of self-paced learning and live instructor engagement to keep trainees engaged through the full course duration, rather than relying solely on static video lectures that participants might otherwise disengage from partway through.
