Dellsons Associates, a Pakistani company, has inked a pact with the Nepal Internet Foundation, aiming to foster the freelancing ecosystem in Nepal. The agreement encompasses initiatives like establishing a nationwide association, organizing capacity-building programs, and hosting conferences tailored for freelancers.
In Nepal, where approximately 20.8 percent of the population falls within the age group of 16–25 years, and 40.68 percent are aged 16–40, this collaboration holds significant promise for engaging the country’s youthful demographic.
Ibrahim Amin, Chairman of Dellsons Group, expressed enthusiasm, citing the company’s extensive experience in supporting freelancers in Pakistan through collaborations with stakeholders such as commercial banks, broadband internet providers, and universities. He emphasized the intention to extend this expertise to neighboring Nepal to bolster the regional freelancing landscape.
Bikram Shrestha, President of the Nepal Internet Foundation, stressed the pivotal role of internet accessibility in driving economic growth. He highlighted the foundation’s commitment to introducing essential trends and fostering the potential of Nepalese youth to contribute to the national economy through global freelancing platforms.
In addition to establishing a freelancers’ body, Dellsons Group plans to engage public and private sector corporations to promote the digital economy and establish remittance channels between Nepal and other countries.
Tufail Ahmed Khan, CEO of Dellsons Group, emphasized the growing prominence of freelancing as a means of earning income in South Asian economies. He underscored the importance of providing freelancers with a national platform to advocate for their rights and address challenges. Drawing parallels with Pakistan, where Dellsons Group formed the Pakistan Freelancers Association (PAFLA), the company aims to replicate its success by building a similar platform for freelancers in Nepal.
