Ben Jones, a recent addition to the Islamabad United team, provided crucial insights into the team’s strategy during the draft for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 9. In an interview conducted by Islamabad United, Jones highlighted the team’s focus on data and analytics to strengthen their squad.

During the interview, when asked about the draft preparation, Jones stated, “It was long and extensive. Even though we had a really good squad before the draft, we knew we still had a lot of work to do. So, it’s been a lot of time using numbers and having conversations.”

Elaborating on the team’s draft decisions, he mentioned,

“We decided that we need the best possible overseas seamer to come in and strengthen our bowling attack, which adds depth to our bowling. So, we added Tymall Mills and also picked Jordan Cox as the wicketkeeper-batter from the Platinum category, so we have the best squad.”

To bolster their bowling attack, the two-time champions also acquired the services of Pakistani fast bowler Naseem Shah, who was traded from Quetta Gladiators.

Known for their destructive batting, Islamabad United, with permanent fixtures like Alex Hales and Colin Munro, aimed to address the bowling department in the recent draft selections. The inclusion of key players like Mills, Cox, and Shah suggests a well-rounded squad for the upcoming PSL season.
