National Cyber Security Council Bill (NCSC) 2014

Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed presented Pakistan’s first ever bill on cyber security, named Cyber Security Council Bill 2014, in the Senate. The bill seeks founding of a National Cyber Security Council and defines its functions and powers as to develop and draft policy, guidelines and governance models related to ever emerging threats to the cyber security.

Sealed!

Ufone, Mobilink, Zong and Telenor Pakistan submitted sealed bids for the auction of 3G / 4G licenses. Four bids were received by PTA for spectrum auction for next generation mobile services in Pakistan given the deadline of April 14, 2014, 4:00 pm as per the details, procedure, requirements and criteria laid down in the Information Memorandum.

Caught with tax fraud

HP Pakistan and its regional management have provided a loss of nearly Rs. 12 billion to the national exchequer. This was revealed in a 3 month long an investigation by tax authority of Pakistan – Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR). Upon getting the evidence that the company was involved in huge tax evasion and smuggling, FBR filed a case against ABS owners in the month of February 2014 who moved Sindh High Court in their favor and took a stay.
