Telecom operators in Pakistan generate revenues up to Rs. 445.7 billion  – PTA

Revenues generated by Telecom operators in Pakistan in a single fiscal year reached all time high at Rs. 445.7 billion during 2012-13, said PTA’s annual report on telecom industry. Report said that revenues of telecom operators grew by 8.9 percent during 2012-13.

New Year: New Savings for EVO

PTCL is rewarding its EVO customers by offering them huge savings of 58% on monthly charges of EVO 3.1 USB device. Applicable on both prepaid and postpaid packages purchased between 24 December 2013 and 3 January 2014, the ‘Epic New Year’ offer enables customers to experience internet at only Rs500 per month for the whole year.

Smartphones Killing Business

As smartphone cameras get better and better, camera companies that compete on the lower end of the camera market are seeing their share erode away. In fact, so many people are giving up buying cameras because their smartphones are good enough that one Credit Suisse analyst told Reuters that he expects only Canon, Nikon, and Sony to survive.

Driving Licenses Drive Home

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has started postal service to provide driving licenses to the citizens at their homes. This step had been taken to facilitate those declared eligible for the driving licence by ITP test teams, the ITP said.Under clause VII of Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1965, he said the driving licence by ITP will be issued only to those residing in Islamabad. 

SnapChat Hacked

Hackers have posted what appears to be private information for more than four-and-a-half million Snapchat users on the web. This could be an effort to get the popular messaging app to beef up its security. The database includes user names, phone numbers, and where they are in the country.
