In honor of Allama Iqbal Day, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and all other banks, including DFIs (Development Finance Institutions) and MFBs (Microfinance Banks), will remain closed to the general public on November 9th.
This public holiday applies to all financial institutions across the country, allowing their personnel to observe the occasion. During the bank holiday, employees will either perform their official duties from their offices or adopt work-from-home arrangements as per the prevailing protocols.
Moreover, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) Limited will also suspend operations on November 9th. An official statement from the PSX confirms the closure, in line with the Government of Pakistan’s declaration of the day as a public holiday to pay tribute to the great poet and philosopher, Allama Iqbal.
