Aga Khan University is hosting its Global Research Showcase on May 19, 2026, at the AKU Auditorium in Karachi, under the theme “Harnessing Artificial and Digital Intelligence for Impact.” The event brings together faculty members, students, researchers, and global thought leaders to explore how artificial intelligence and digital intelligence are being applied to turn academic research into real-world outcomes across health, education, development, and social impact. The showcase is open to all and carries no registration fee, with interested participants encouraged to register at lnkd.in/d2p_wRMc.

The event is structured as a dynamic gathering featuring lightning talks, a global keynote address, and dedicated conversations on artificial intelligence ethics, innovation, and the future of research. The format is designed to move quickly across a range of perspectives and disciplines, giving attendees exposure to multiple research streams and applications in a single session rather than a deep dive into any single topic. The inclusion of an ethics track alongside innovation discussions reflects Aga Khan University’s recognition that responsible deployment of artificial intelligence in research and applied settings requires as much attention to governance and values as it does to technical capability.

The showcase runs from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM Pakistan Standard Time, corresponding to 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM British Standard Time and 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM East Africa Time, with the multi-timezone scheduling reflecting Aga Khan University’s global institutional footprint spanning Pakistan, East Africa, and the United Kingdom. Details for joining online will be shared closer to the event date, making the session accessible to the university’s international academic community and interested participants who are unable to attend in person in Karachi. The event underscores the university’s growing emphasis on translating research into tangible societal impact, with artificial intelligence and digital tools increasingly central to how that translation is being pursued across its campuses and affiliated institutions worldwide.
