ISLAMABAD: A Japanese firm that is developing a high-tech platform to expand its global services has stated that it has awarded orders for the establishment of an information technology platform for real estate to a Pakistani firm.
“We are pleased that Bears Inc Japan has selected Saffran Group from Pakistan for this product, which will be completed by high-tech IT specialists in Pakistan,” said Pakistan ambassador to Japan Imtiaz Ahmad in a news release published on Monday.
The overall cost of product development will be JPY350 million (US$3.2 million), of which JPY130 million has already been spent on work and an investment road map.
According to the news release, Ahmad met with Bears Real Estate President Michiyoshi Takuma and Saffran Group Chief Executive Officer Mirza Asif Baig.
The ambassador thanked Bears Inc Japan and Saffran Group on this project and pledged the embassy’s and Pakistan’s full support in ensuring the project’s success.
This transaction was one of the largest direct orders of a Japanese firm to Pakistan in the sector of information technology, according to statistics from the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) and JETRO.
This will encourage other Japanese corporations to look to Pakistan for IT solutions in a variety of fields.
It would also encourage other Pakistani technology firms to look into the possibility of providing IT services to Japanese firms.
