On Wednesday, a special signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was held in Peshawar between the Higher Education, Archives and Libraries Department, the government of KPK, and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
Kamran Khan Bangash, Special Assistant to Chief Minister KPK on Higher Education and Information, Tehmina Aamer, Secretary Higher Education Archives and Libraries, Dawood Khan, Secretary FATE FBR, Alam Zaib Khan, and Secretary PR FBR, Adnan Akram Bajwa, were present at the occasion.
Dawood Khan, Provincial Secretary Higher Education Archives and Libraries Department, and Tehmina Aamer, Chief workshop FATE FBR signed the MoU.
Under the Higher Education Archives and Libraries Department, the MoU aims to develop tax culture and awareness in all educational institutions.
It will help students and instructors develop a positive taxation culture and awareness through a variety of activities, skills, and practical learning in order to help them become responsible citizens.
Through taxation syllabuses, training sessions, and seminars, the FBR will educate and train students and teachers.
The training sessions will teach students the importance of paying taxes as well as how to spot tax evasion and report it to the appropriate authorities.
According to the inked MoU, the Higher Education Archives and Libraries Department will grant FBR access to all provincial government educational institutions to conduct training and awareness efforts. This Memorandum of Understanding will be valid for three years.
On the occasion, Kamran Khan Bangash, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of KPK on Higher Education and Information, congratulated the FBR for proposing the idea of fostering tax culture among the country’s youth.
He stated that the training sessions would educate pupils about the need of paying taxes, making them tax-aware citizens.
The FBR has planned to hold countrywide tax awareness workshops, including seminars and training sessions, in order to promote tax culture and increase the number of taxpayers and revenue.
