The National Centre of Robotics and Automation at NUST has announced a Startup Challenge in the fields of Robotics and Automation.
NCRA is headquartered at the NUST College for Electrical and Mechanical Engineering in Rawalpindi. The Startup Challenge is inviting concept designers from across Pakistan, to submit their ideas. The winning prizes include up PKR 300,000 in cash prizes.
How to Apply?
A concept note is to be submitted by 30th September 2020. The template for the submission form can be accessed from the NCRA Robotics Challenge website. The form must contain:
- Concept description
- Outcomes and benefits
- Objectives
- Research Approach
After all submissions are received, the concept notes will be reviewed, to select a handful of entries. These shortlisted start-up ideas will be chosen, and provided assistance to carry out their project and develop their product. Lastly, they will pitch their finished products resulting in a group being declared the winner.
As per the official announcement, NUST says,
“This is a rewarding opportunity for innovators and researchers working on sustainable and innovative solutions addressing problems of local industry and socio-economic issues of Pakistan”
The startups applying to the challenge should be looking at providing indigenous, automated product solutions for any local industry. This needs to be in line with industry 3.0 – 4.0, or they need to provide an indigenously developed product that solves a societal or industrial problem using robotics and automation.
