Spotify’s annual Wrapped campaign returns for 2025 with insights into Pakistan’s evolving music scene, highlighting a notable surge in local music consumption. Over the past year, Pakistani listeners have increased their streaming of homegrown music by 70 percent, reflecting a deepening appreciation for domestic talent. Talha Anjum has emerged as the country’s Top Pakistani Artist for the second consecutive year, reaffirming his influence on the national music landscape. Alongside Anjum, artists such as Umair and Hasan Raheem have captured the attention of listeners across generations, while iconic figures like Atif Aslam and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan continue to resonate with younger audiences discovering music through digital platforms.

The year’s top songs reveal a shift toward fresh voices and collaborations, with tracks like Jhol by Maanu and Annural Khalid holding the top spot as Pakistan’s most-streamed track. Other popular releases include Afusic and AliSoomroMusic’s Pal Pal, Bayaan, Hasan Raheem and Rovalio’s Maand, Departure Lane by Talha Anjum and Umair, and Wishes by Hasan Raheem, Umair and Talwiinder. The prominence of these tracks signals a growing trend where emerging artists not only enter the scene but consistently engage large audiences. Hip-hop, in particular, saw a 35 percent increase in popularity, underscoring its role in shaping contemporary Pakistani music tastes.

Album streaming trends also reflect the balance between nostalgia and novelty. Bayaan’s Safar leads as the most-streamed Pakistani album of 2025, with Talha Anjum and Umair’s collaborative projects My Terrible Mind and Open Letter following closely. Umair’s solo project ROCKSTAR WITHOUT A GUITAR also features prominently, while classic works like Imran Khan’s Unforgettable and Kaavish’s Gunkali remain widely revisited. Meanwhile, newer releases including Hasan Raheem’s Dil Kay Parday and Maanu’s thikaana highlight the rising influence of modern artists in defining Pakistan’s music landscape. These trends demonstrate how listeners are engaging with a broad mix of contemporary and established sounds.
