On August 19, PASHA Central Executive Committee members Salman Dar, Sheikh Abdul Qadir, and Secretary General Ali Hasani held a detailed meeting with H.E. Dr. Dan Stoenescu, Ambassador of Romania to Pakistan, along with Eduard-Robert Preda, Deputy Head of Mission and Minister Plenipotentiary, at the Romanian Embassy in Islamabad. The interaction was aimed at identifying avenues of collaboration between Pakistan and Romania in the field of information technology, underscoring the importance of international cooperation in fostering innovation and industry growth.

During the meeting, participants discussed opportunities for building stronger linkages between the IT communities of both countries. Topics included enhancing partnerships in software development, digital transformation, and innovation-driven services. Both sides agreed that knowledge sharing and industry-specific cooperation could open new opportunities for companies in Pakistan and Romania to engage in mutually beneficial projects. The Romanian officials emphasized their interest in exploring partnerships with Pakistan’s rapidly growing IT sector, while PASHA members highlighted the potential of Pakistani companies to contribute to Europe’s expanding demand for technology solutions.

As part of the outcome of this discussion, PASHA announced that it will establish a dedicated forum in collaboration with the Romanian Embassy in Islamabad. This forum will serve as a platform for PASHA members to connect directly with Romanian IT companies, business leaders, and policymakers. It is envisioned as a space where ideas can be exchanged, partnerships can be initiated, and long-term collaborations can be developed. To facilitate the launch of this initiative, a session will be arranged in the near future where PASHA and Romanian industry leaders will come together for deeper dialogue and networking. The forum is expected to encourage joint ventures, skill-building initiatives, and the sharing of best practices across the technology value chain.

This development represents a meaningful step in enhancing international ties for Pakistan’s IT industry, which continues to expand its global footprint. Romania, with its well-established digital economy and expertise in software engineering, presents a valuable partner for Pakistan’s tech ecosystem. By connecting Pakistani firms with Romanian counterparts, PASHA aims to unlock new opportunities in outsourcing, software exports, and research-driven collaborations. The initiative also reflects PASHA’s commitment to supporting its members by enabling global access and creating avenues for them to scale their businesses internationally. The meeting further signaled a willingness from both sides to continue building on this momentum and explore structured cooperation frameworks that can contribute to sustained growth in the IT sectors of both countries.
