JazzCash has partnered with the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST-NUCES) to introduce an elective course titled Fintech Ecosystems for students of the FAST School of Management. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry by equipping students with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in the rapidly evolving fintech sector.
The 16-week course will be conducted by JazzCash’s leadership team, offering students direct insights from professionals actively shaping Pakistan’s digital financial landscape. With fintech becoming an integral part of the economy, the course is designed to help students understand financial technology’s fundamentals, including digital payments, product development, regulatory frameworks, and global fintech trends.
Murtaza Ali, President of JazzCash, emphasized the collaboration’s significance, stating, “This partnership allows us to inspire and nurture the next generation of fintech leaders by integrating industry expertise into the classroom. We want to empower students with the tools and knowledge so that they can contribute meaningfully to the digital financial services industry.” His remarks underscore the growing need for financial technology professionals who can drive innovation in Pakistan’s fintech ecosystem.
Dr. Sadia Nadeem, Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences at FAST-NUCES, also highlighted the impact of the collaboration, noting, “Partnering with JazzCash strengthens our commitment to providing market-driven education. This course will offer students a real-world understanding of the fintech sector, preparing them to contribute meaningfully to the global financial ecosystem.”
The curriculum covers a comprehensive range of topics, including Pakistan’s local fintech landscape, regional and international market trends, product development cycles, financial regulations, and digital transformation in banking and payments. Students will also engage in case studies, industry projects, and mentorship sessions to deepen their understanding of the fintech sector.
This partnership follows JazzCash’s recent collaboration with the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) at LUMS, where a case study on JazzCash’s successful transformation was developed for academic and executive programs. The study explored the company’s innovative strategies and its role in revolutionizing Pakistan’s digital payments space.
By fostering stronger industry-academia collaborations, JazzCash aims to nurture a new generation of fintech professionals who can drive financial inclusion and digital innovation in Pakistan. As digital payments and financial services continue to grow, such initiatives play a crucial role in preparing students for careers in fintech, enabling them to contribute effectively to the evolving global financial ecosystem.
