Pakistan IT Industry Association (P@SHA) Animation & Creative Economy Committee recently held a roundtable at National Aerospace Science & Technology Park (NASTP) in Karachi, bringing together various ecosystem players from the animation and creative sectors to explore collaborative growth strategies.

The event was led by Hassan Bin Rizwan, Co-Chair of the Brand and Global Outreach Committee at P@SHA, who was joined by other key industry figures to discuss critical opportunities to propel Pakistan’s animation and creative sectors forward.

A primary focus of the discussion centered on ways NASTP could bolster the sector by enhancing infrastructure and providing key support for companies. Participants explored how industry stakeholders might collaborate on joint product development, a step that could increase the scale and scope of their offerings.

Another key topic included identifying core competencies that could help local companies secure large service contracts with international studios, with participants examining how the combined capabilities of different firms could create a more competitive edge.

One of the main initiatives discussed was the development of the Creative Economy Growth Accelerator (CEGA) and Virtual Production Studios, two upcoming initiatives led by Ignite and the Ministry of IT and Telecom, which offer promising potential to advance the industry rapidly. Leaders believe these developments could facilitate high-speed growth and place Pakistan on the global animation and creative economy map.

As a next step, the committee plans to solicit Expressions of Interest (EOI) from participating companies. This will help gauge specific needs from support partners like NASTP and determine what companies are willing to contribute toward building a stronger, more collaborative ecosystem.

This roundtable marks a significant move toward establishing Pakistan as a key player in the international creative economy, with leaders optimistic about the potential for growth and innovation in the industry.
