In a bid to curb the trafficking of stolen and pilfered cell phones, the KP Police has unveiled a new app, “FMC” (Find My Cell). The introduction took place at the Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines, with Capital City Police Officer Ashfaq Anwar, DIG IT Irfan Khan, and SSP Operations Kashif Aftab Abbasi presenting the innovative solution.
CCPO Ashfaq Anwar highlighted the app’s significance, explaining that it will establish a connection between local police stations and registered mobile dealers, effectively preventing the sale of stolen or robbed mobile phones. The app will provide registered dealers with details of all stolen and looted phones in case of suspicion, facilitating swift action.
To ensure the effectiveness of this initiative, phone dealers will undergo registration after verification from relevant associations and police stations. CCPO Ashfaq Anwar emphasized that the city police are taking proactive measures to enhance law and order, combat phone theft and snatching, and discourage the misuse of technology for illicit activities.
