Zong, one of Pakistan’s leading technology innovation companies, is reinforcing its commitment to digital inclusion by upgrading the digital learning lab at Islamabad Model School (I-V) F-6/3, popularly known as Kohsar School. This initiative is part of Zong’s broader mission to provide smart education solutions aimed at underserved and marginalized communities across the country, helping to bridge the growing digital divide.

Situated in Kohsar Market, Islamabad, Kohsar School caters to around 400 students, with over 70% coming from marginalized backgrounds. Despite limited resources and infrastructural challenges, the school holds a crucial place in Islamabad’s public education landscape. To further enhance its educational offerings, the school plans to introduce specialized spaces such as a Robotics Lab, an Art Studio, and a Tech Learning Centre in the near future, aiming to equip students with essential 21st-century skills.

The newly revamped digital learning lab is outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment and technology to promote interactive and gamified learning experiences. This dynamic setup is especially impactful for primary-level students, many of whom had little previous exposure to digital tools and technology. By engaging students with visual and interactive educational content, the lab creates an encouraging environment that nurtures curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.

Zong’s spokesperson Andleeb Aslam highlighted the importance of integrating digital tools in education: “By integrating digital tools into the classroom, we are not only enhancing learning but also laying the groundwork for equitable access to digital opportunities, regardless of a child’s background.” This upgrade ensures that students from marginalized communities receive access to quality digital education, which is critical in today’s technology-driven world.

Through sustained efforts like these, Zong is making sure no child is left behind in Pakistan’s fast-evolving digital era. Embedding digital education into the core curriculum of underserved communities promotes social inclusion, helps bridge gender gaps, and supports long-term community upliftment. The project at Kohsar School reflects a growing recognition across public and private sectors of the role that technology can play in driving equitable educational outcomes.

The initiative aligns well with Pakistan’s national vision of a digitally empowered society, contributing to Digital Pakistan goals by making technology accessible at the grassroots level. As Kohsar School continues to expand and upgrade its infrastructure, collaborations with forward-thinking tech companies like Zong remain crucial. These partnerships provide the necessary expertise, tools, and resources to transform traditional classrooms into modern learning environments.

Ultimately, this project is a testament to how targeted interventions can reshape the future for marginalized students by providing them with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the digital economy. By focusing on early education and digital literacy, Zong is nurturing the next generation of innovators and leaders from communities that have historically been left behind.

As digital transformation accelerates globally, Zong’s initiative at Kohsar School offers a replicable model for inclusive education, emphasizing the importance of combining technology with human-centered approaches to achieve sustainable progress in Pakistan’s educational landscape.
