YouTube Pulse is an event organized by the video streaming giant that showcases how brands
can make most of the platform. The aim of the event is to increase the awareness among
advertisers and brands on how they can monetize their videos and promote their products in a
creative way using this enormously popular platform.
Recently, the video streaming platform has brought the event to Pakistan. This comes as a
strategy shift for Pakistan for the streaming platform as it realizes that it’s an attractive market
for it to increase its presence among local content creators.
At the event, YouTube shared some interesting statistics with the audience, such as: 73% of
internet users in Pakistan access YouTube once a month, 64% of Pakistanis say that YouTube is
their favorite video platform, 80% of online millennials access YouTube in metropolitan cities of
Pakistan, 78% of users in Pakistan consider YouTube to be their first stop while looking for a
video. Moreover, there are more than 650 channels in Pakistan with more than 100,000
subscribers, as well as 50% users in Pakistan say that ads on YouTube help them decide what to
buy.
The event highlights the fact that YouTube has decided to take a focused approach towards
Pakistan. Furthermore, it is hoped that with the video streaming platform brings in its other
events such as the YouTube Fan Fest that caters to the content creators of a country.
