Xiaomi has quietly confirmed a global release for its latest premium smartwatch, the Watch S5, by listing the device on its international website ahead of a formal global launch event. The Watch S5 will be available globally in Black, Ceramic Blue, Jungle Green, and Silver finishes, with the international listing also confirming all key hardware specifications for the version being released outside China. The move signals that the Watch S5 is being positioned as a serious entry in the premium smartwatch segment globally, going up against established players from Samsung, Apple, and Garmin.
The Watch S5 retains an 815 milliampere-hour battery from its Chinese release, with Xiaomi claiming up to 9 days of battery life with always-on display functionality enabled, and up to 21 days in power saving mode. On the display side, the Watch S5 features a 1.48-inch AMOLED panel set within a 46 millimetre case, with a 480 by 480 pixel resolution delivering a pixel density of 323 pixels per inch. The display peaks at 2,500 nits in certain conditions, with a full panel brightness of 1,500 nits. The combination of a large, high-brightness screen and an extended battery life positions the Watch S5 as a device built for outdoor and active use, where screen visibility and endurance matter most. The smartwatch also includes built-in GPS and over 150 pre-installed sports modes, covering a wide range of fitness and activity tracking scenarios.
Xiaomi has not yet revealed a specific date for when it will be launching the Watch S5 outside China. However, the company hosted a global launch event in Vienna on May 28, which was primarily focused on the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro, with multiple other devices also expected to make an appearance at the event. Given that the Watch S5 is now listed on Xiaomi’s global website with full specifications confirmed, it is widely expected to have been among the devices formally introduced at the Vienna event, though pricing for various markets has not yet been officially announced at the time of writing. The global rollout of the Watch S5 marks another step in Xiaomi’s broader push to grow its wearables presence outside China, where the brand has already built a strong following through its Smart Band lineup and previous Watch S series models.
