Prime Minister Imran Khan and Co-founder of Microsoft and billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates recently had a meeting on Wednesday through phone call. According to the PM house, both the dignitaries had a 30 minute conversation where they exchanged views on bolstering Information Technology (IT) sector of Pakistan, vast investment opportunities, transfer of technology and eradication of polio in the country.
It is reported that Bill Gates congratulated the Prime Minister for his election as the Premier of the country and hoped to collaborate with the government in the eradication of polio from its roots. Furthermore, he also appreciated the steps Pakistan has taken for the abolition of infectious disease and assured the Prime Minister of continued cooperation in various fields.
The Prime Minister also thanked Bill Gates for the phenomenal work of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation against polio and invited him to visit Pakistan, which the philanthropist graciously accepted. It is to be noted that earlier this year, Bill Gates had announced that they will be increasing the financial aid for Pakistan to combat polio.
