PTA Sees Rise In Number of 3G/4G Subscribers

According to the recent report by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) the number of 3G and 4G users in Pakistan have reached 64.57 million by

 

According to the recent report by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) the number of 3G and 4G users in Pakistan have reached 64.57 million by end February 2019.

The statistics show that number of mobile phone users in Pakistan as reached 156.92 million by end February as compared to 153.302 million by end January 2019.

The breakdown telecom wise is as follows: Jazz’s total count for 3G users stood at 13.714 million, seeing a decrease of 0.006 millionwhereas Jazz 4G user numbers jumped from 7.606 million by end January to 8.144 million.

However, Zong 3G subscribers increased from 8.660 million to 8.738 million while the number of 4G users jumped from 10.443 million. The number of 3G users of Telenor network decreased from 8.917 million to 8.851 million with the number of 4G users rising from 5.227 million to 5.569 million by end February. PTA has not released the data for February for Ufone, yet.

Furthermore,Teledensity for cellular mobile has increased to 76.3 percent by end February compared to 75.78 by end January and broadband subscribers reached 66704731 by end February compared to 65139237 by end January.

In February, PTA received 3687 complaints from telecom consumers against different telecom and cellular operators, PTCL, LDIs, WLL operators and ISPs. The data shows that Jazz leads the chart with 909 complaints with Telenor stands at second position as the most complained about telecom operator with 779 complaints.In total, the number of complaints against CMOs by February stood at 2801.Whereas, Zong stood third with 623 complaints and Ufone had 490 complaints against its various services. Moreover, 371 complaints were received against basic telephony and 510 complaints were received against ISPs.
