The Government of Pakistan in order to boost the ICT sector of the country is continuously adopting advanced tools of technology in various departments. Recently, they have upgraded the consular services in the country, i.e. the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has transitioned from the manual attestation of documents to the digital attestation system.
The digital Quick Response (QR) code system was launched this week at the headquarters of the Foreign Office. The system is to help the ministry store a small amount of data efficiently. The system is to be introduced to the different camps as well.
The Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson, speaking to the local news said, “this new digital setup is quite user-friendly and it will lead to an efficient attestation of papers. Meanwhile, the usage of QR code scanner will also help verify the attestation of documents.”
Furthermore, the new setup is to also help in the restriction of professional misconduct of fraudulent attestations which were earlier distress in the manual attestation system. The digital attestation will develop a paperless system and it will ensure that all the data of the FO is digitally backed up.
The new system will also help overseas Pakistanis who send their wills, power of attorney, and those who seek the foreign office to attest marriage certificates and various educational documents.
