The Pakistan E-Commerce Consortium Organized The Ecom Connect 2018

The ecommerce industry in Pakistan has really started to boom with the advent of technology and the arrival of big ecommerce websites such as Daraz, Yayvo and Symbios.pk. One can see many efforts that are being made to further strengthen the industry with the call for an Ecommerce Association of Pakistan and an ecommerce policy underway.

The Pakistan E-Commerce Consortium recently organized an E-Commerce Conference by the name of Ecom Connect at the National Incubation Centre in Islamabad on the 13th of November 2018.

The event was a part of the LIFT 2018 held by JumpStart Pakistan from the 11th to the 16th of November 2018 at different venues in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Te organizers for the event were Buyon.pk, Sehat, and FreshStart. Partners for the event were Careem, KickStart Co Working Space, and VirginTeez.

The aim of the Ecom Connect was to cover a wide variety of topics heavily discussed in the realm of Ecommerce in Pakistan, such as Digital Payments, Marketplaces, Customer Experience, Marketing, and Logistics. The conference also provided recommendations and policies for the betterment of E-Commerce implementation in the country. Furthermore, Digital Health, AI in Ecommerce, and Legal/Taxation issues of e-commerce were also discussed

The sessions that took place at the Ecom Connect were Ecommerce in Pakistan at a Glance by Badar Khushnood, Vice Chairman P@SHA and Cofounder Bramerz/Fishry; E-commerce and AIby SehatStart – Dice Analytics and Evolve Machine Learners with Omar Moeen Malik (Group Exec Telenor Microfinance Bank); Data Protection & Other Legal Issues in e-Commerce by Saif Ullah Khan Managing Partner S.U.Khan Associates Corporate & Legal Consultants; Why the Future of E-Commerce Marketing is Digital PR by Bilal Mumtaz, SehatStart; Saad Munir from HexaClicks was also one of the speakers at the event.

A panel discussion on Customer Experience and eCommerce was also held at the Ecom Connect
with Arslan Nazir from Shophive as the moderator. The panelists at the discussion were:Mufeez Rana, AutoX; Muhammad Khalid, Clicky; Fatin Gondal, webworks.pk; Adeel Shaffi, PriceOye; and Umar Qamar, ELO.

Bilal Mumtaz from SehatStart also moderated a panel discussion on Digital Health with panelists Hyder Mumtaz, Augmentcare; Shimail Daud Arain, Maryam Memorial Hospital; Sarfraz Arshad, TalkHealth; Nadir Mumtaz, Sehat.com.pk; Farwa Ali, Marham; Murtaza Hussain, SehatYab; and Dr. Asim Mahmood Khan, RingADoctor.
