The world’s oldest and largest film making competition “48 Hour Film Project” is coming to Pakistan for the first time ever. The competition is aimed at people of all ages, skills and expertise.
The competition is to take place in Karachi and will see a gathering of people to create short films and compete for prizes and international recognition. The competition is to take place on the 28th of September and the participants will be invited to make short films on random genres and submit their work within 48 hours.
The movies that will be submitted to the competition will be premiered at Cinepax Cinemas on October 13th to 14th in Karachi. Then the judges will then select the top 10 films and winners for awards in different categories.
The Karachi chapter of the competition will be judged by Asadul Haq, one of the biggest names in Pakistan’s media industry and Nic Knowland, the world renowned cinematographer famous for his work in John Lennon’s Imagine and 1997’s Jinnah. Other judges include Sanam Saeed and Imtisal Abbasi.
The winners of the competition will get a chance to go to Filmapalooza in Orlando with the top films selected will be featured at the Cannes Short Film Corner 2019.
