In order to fight air pollution in Peshawar, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has installed Pakistan’s first Internet of Things (IoT) based air quality monitoring gadget at District Nazim office in Peshawar. The gadget is specifically designed to detect toxic elements present in the air.
The announcement about the installation of the device was made by on Kamran Khan Bangash on Twitter. He is the special assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Science, Technology and IT (ST&IT).
In his tweet, he wrote: “novelty step towards a better healthier Peshawar” and technology-driven Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that gadget is greatly helpful in sensing humidity, dust, temperature, and carbon dioxide levels in the air surrounding our atmosphere.
The device also allows environmental experts to devise pragmatic solutions to effectively cleanse the atmosphere. Furthermore, the gadget has special sensors to check major air components to monitor air quality.
