WhatsApp Communities are now available to all users after several months in beta. Communities make it simpler to organise discussion groups for diverse needs or topics by allowing you to gather all of your groups into one place. This functionality’s testing phase began earlier this year.
The communication and organisation inside organisations, clubs, schools, and other private groups is improved by communities. For instance, you will be able to switch between groups easily and aggregate all of your work-related groups in one place.
In that both allow for the formation of sub-groups, file sharing, increased admin rights, and other features, communities and Facebook groups are equivalent. As WhatsApp is primarily phone number based, communities will likely be used by users who already know one another in person. On the other hand, Facebook Groups are more typically made up of distant strangers who have a common interest.
Contrarily, only administrators and other members of the same sub-group will have access to phone numbers; the wider Community won’t.
Another difference between the two is that while WhatsApp Communities will remain hidden, Facebook Groups are searchable on the website. Only by invitation can you join them. Administrators will also have the option of transferring existing groups into Communities.
