Viper Technology recently participated in a dinner hosted by the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), where representatives engaged with Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial and senior members of the business community. The gathering provided an opportunity for discussions around business, technology and the evolving requirements of Pakistan’s corporate and commercial sectors.
According to Viper Technology, the company attended the FPCCI hosted dinner and held high level discussions with Rashid Mahmood Langrial, who currently serves as Chairman of FBR. The company also exchanged views with senior representatives of FPCCI and the leadership of Businessmen Panel Progressive. Viper Technology described the evening as productive and interactive, with discussions taking place among representatives from the technology and business sectors. The participation reflects the role of industry forums such as FPCCI in bringing technology companies, business representatives and government stakeholders together for discussions on issues affecting the wider commercial environment. Viper Technology has also been involved in technology focused initiatives connected with FPCCI. The company has previously been associated with LaunchPad Pakistan, an initiative involving FPCCI that focuses on startups and technology businesses across areas including fintech, e-commerce, health technology, agritech and artificial intelligence. Viper Technology has been described as supporting local technology innovation and manufacturing through its involvement in the initiative.
The engagement also comes as FBR continues work on technology and administrative reforms affecting businesses and taxpayers. Earlier in 2026, FBR presented its transformation agenda to FPCCI stakeholders during a seminar in Karachi, highlighting several technology based initiatives. These included Point of Sale integration, Track and Trace systems, digital invoicing, a Faceless Customs System, cargo tracking, Direct Port Delivery, a Reward and Rating System, and the use of video analytics for production monitoring. The initiatives are part of FBR’s broader efforts to increase the use of digital systems in tax administration and reduce reliance on direct interaction between taxpayers and officials. A previous FPCCI meeting with Langrial also included discussions on tax rates, tax filing requirements, ports and shipping matters, and the need for greater digitalization of the FBR system.
For technology companies such as Viper Technology, these developments are relevant as government agencies increasingly introduce digital systems across taxation, customs and business processes. FBR has been placing particular attention on reducing manual intervention through systems such as Faceless Customs Assessment and other technology based mechanisms. In January 2026, Langrial said FBR’s transformation plan placed emphasis on modernizing Pakistan Customs through digitalization, risk based controls and reduced human intervention. The technology agenda also includes Digital Enforcement Stations and other systems designed to support real time monitoring and improve operational processes. Against this backdrop, Viper Technology’s participation in the FPCCI dinner provided an opportunity to engage directly with FBR leadership and business representatives while exchanging views on areas where technology and government policy intersect.
