The Google Indie Games Accelerator is a mentorship, training, and networking program for gaming startups. The accelerator recently graduated its first cohort on the 28th of November 2018. Among the first graduating class of the Google Indie Games Accelerator are two Pakistani gaming startups, we.R.play and Dreamnode Studios.

we.R.play was founded in 2010 with over 95 artists, content designers, engineers, and QA analysts. They were the creators of the viral mobile game Run Sheeda Run and Explottens. Whereas, Dreamnode Studios is a new gaming studio with the aim to create fun, challenging and engaging apps and have developed the Flukeoff Football: Online Multiplayer Soccer game specifically for the IGA 2018 bootcamp.

The curriculum of the gaming startup accelerator is based upon mentorship, training workshops and clinics, and networking sessions. The accelerator was a two month long boot camp where startups were given an opportunity to work with mentors from Google and the gaming industry, focusing on these core areas of game development, business development, people and team culture development.

Furthermore, the graduating startups also received an invitation to attend 2 all-expense-paid gaming boot camps at Google Asia HQ in Singapore, a personalized mentorship from top experts from Google and the gaming industry, an opportunity to be showcased on Google Play, a Google Pixel phone, US$ 20,000 in Google Cloud Platform and Firebase credits, with training and support, an invitation to attend Google Playtime 2018 in Singapore, a delegate pass to Google I/O 2019, and an invitation to a Unity “Unite” event of their choice in SEA or India.
