Telenor’s CEO Visits Pakistan

Jon Fredrik Baksaas, CEO & President Telenor Group and Chairman of GSMA, visited Pakistan on a two day schedule. He is expected to hold high level meetings with government officials and dignitaries to discuss the growth and future prospects of mobile telecommunication and mobile financial services in the country.

MCB Bank Selects Oracle WebLogic Suite

MCB Bank Ltd (MCB) selects Oracle WebLogic Suite 12c to help maximize its ROI. It will be used for its new core banking application to enable faster online banking services as well as supporting future growth.MCB needed to enhance the system efficiency because it has been processing more than 400,000 transactions for retail and corporate banking services on daily basis that is estimated to grow around 1.0 million per day in the future.

Ufone Responds to Telenor with Hisaab SMS Service

Ufone responds to Telenor with its Hisaab SMS Service.  Telenor, with its blunt TVCs, claimed that all operators steal balance of their customers without their knowledge. In response to Telenor, Ufone has come up with a service that sends customers one SMS a day with daily summary of all the costs and charges that were deducted from the account on the previous day.

QMobile Z4 mini for a Price Tag of Rs. 28,500

QMobile has launched Z4 mini for a price of Rs. 28,500 and it has been advertised very smartly.  Kareena Kapoor Khan has already popularized the full sized version of Z4 and now QMobile has launched a more affordable version of the phone that was originally sold for Rs. 35,000. It has an Android 4.2 Jelly bean OS and 1.5GHz quad core processor. Moreover, it also has an internal memory of 16GB and supports no external SD card.
