Zong has introduced city specific packages for mobile internet. Just like LBC offers, with this new offer, Zong customers can subscribe to Mobile internet packages using GPRS if they reside in following four cities: Lahore, Sialkot, Gujrat, Daska.

Warid Brings the Glow Amongst the Youth

Warid offers a new daily package, ‘Glow 24,‘ which allows its users to enjoy daily 100MB Mobile Internet, 100 free minutes on friends and family numbers and 100 SMS every day. The package offers great convenience of one lump-sum amount of just Rs14.99 in which all taxes are included. To activate:users of Warid need to Type Glow24 in an SMS to 7777.

Huawei’s Latest Offering: Tron

Huawei has announced its latest Android gaming console called the Tron at the CES 2014, Las Vegas. Although there is a very less Android consoles so fat, the Tron micro-console comes with Nvidia’s Tegra 4 graphics, paired with a cylindrical-shaped hub with a Bluetooth controller. The device is not meant to go outside China.

Telecom Equipment Declines by $ 36m

The import of telecom equipment and telephone/cellular handsets has declined to US$ 918.4 million from US$ 954.05 million. The import of mobile handsets increased to US $467.1 million from US $465.3 million at the end of previous fiscal year. According to PTA, rise in the demand for smart phones in the country has substantially increased imports of handsets.

Minster of State for Information and Technology, Ms. Anusha Rehman claims cyber bill to be on parliament table by January end 2014.Minister said that now that the bill is only to be reviewed by international consultants to make it more comprehensive and viable with respect to international standards.
