Telenor Pakistan Partners with Huawei to Upgrade CBS for Digital Transformation

Telenor Pakistan and Huawei have taken a significant step towards digital transformation by signing a Strategic Cooperation Agreement at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025. The agreement focuses on upgrading Telenor Pakistan’s Communication Business Support System (CBS), a move that is set to enhance the company’s technological capabilities and operational efficiency. This development underscores Telenor Pakistan’s commitment to staying at the forefront of telecom advancements, ensuring a seamless customer experience and enabling integration with emerging digital services.

Through this collaboration, Telenor Pakistan will implement an advanced CBS that modernizes its billing infrastructure. The new system will provide real-time data processing, improved stability, and greater flexibility, allowing for enhanced efficiency and customer service. With telecom services evolving rapidly, the upgrade positions Telenor Pakistan as a leading player in the digital landscape, ensuring that its customers receive high-quality and innovative services.

The agreement was formalized in a high-profile signing ceremony attended by top executives from both organizations. Mr. Khurrum Ashfaque, CEO of Telenor Pakistan, and Mr. Sun Xiaofei, CEO of Huawei Pakistan, led the event, emphasizing the significance of the partnership. Also present were Mr. Ma Ning, President of Huawei Software, Mr. Irfan Wahab Khan, Senior Vice President of Telenor Asia, and Mr. Marius Gigernes, Chairman of the Board at Telenor Pakistan. Their presence reflected the strong commitment of both companies to advancing digital innovation in Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Khurrum Ashfaque, CEO of Telenor Pakistan, highlighted the impact of the partnership, stating, “This contract with Huawei is an important step in our digital transformation journey. By upgrading our billing system, we are strengthening our technical capabilities to provide a better experience to our customers. By adopting advanced solutions, we aim to drive innovation and stay ahead in the evolving digital landscape.” His remarks underscored Telenor Pakistan’s vision of continuous innovation and excellence in customer service.

Huawei Pakistan’s CEO, Sun Xiaofei, echoed similar sentiments, expressing his enthusiasm about the collaboration. He stated, “This agreement represents the deepening of our collaboration. Huawei will provide Telenor Pakistan with reliable solutions to ensure a smooth system upgrade and will continue supporting long-term technological development.” Huawei’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology aligns with Telenor Pakistan’s goals of modernization and digital transformation.
