Waqas Aman Ullah, the Chief Consumer Business Officer of Telenor Pakistan, has officially resigned from his position as Pak Telecom Mobile Limited advances the operational integration of Telenor Pakistan following the Islamabad High Court’s approval of the merger scheme on June 30, 2026. The departure marks one of the most senior leadership changes to emerge from the post-merger transition and signals the beginning of a broader realignment of Telenor Pakistan’s executive structure under the new combined entity.

During his tenure, Aman Ullah was instrumental in leading Telenor’s consumer business value chain, with a particular focus on driving integration between the operator’s digital and physical channels to broaden market presence and improve customer satisfaction outcomes. His exit comes at a critical juncture as PTML, which currently operates under the Ufone brand, begins the formal process of absorbing Telenor Pakistan’s operations, assets, and workforce into a single organisational structure. According to insider sources, the company has already completed consultations and interviews for the CCBO role, with a board meeting expected to formalise the appointment of a successor in the near term.

PTML has also officially taken over Telenor Pakistan’s iconic headquarters at 345 in Islamabad, with the transfer of the building representing one of the most visible early steps in the physical consolidation of the two operators. Despite the leadership changes accompanying the merger, the company has confirmed that no further layoffs are planned at this time, a statement that will be closely watched by the combined entity’s workforce as the integration process unfolds over the coming months. The merger creates Pakistan’s second-largest mobile operator by subscriber count, with a combined base of approximately 70 million users, and the executive decisions made during the integration period will shape the competitive character of the new entity as it prepares to transition from the Ufone and Telenor brands to the unified e and identity.
