Tech Valley Pakistan has signed a Letter of Intent with the Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Department, Government of the Punjab, to distribute 1,000 Google Career Certificates scholarships to youth from minority and marginalized communities across the province. The initiative will provide selected learners with access to digital skills training through the Google Career Certificates Scholarships program, offering a range of learning opportunities designed around technology, business and emerging digital fields. The agreement brings together Tech Valley Pakistan, a digital transformation partner in Pakistan, and a provincial government department with the objective of expanding access to professional learning opportunities for young people. The signing ceremony was chaired by Minister for Minorities Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora and attended by Tech Valley Chief Executive Officer Umar Farooq, along with teams representing both organizations.
Under the scholarship program, participating learners will have access to 14 specializations comprising 83 courses. The available learning options cover a range of areas that are increasingly relevant to the technology and digital economy. These include Google AI Essentials, Prompting Essentials, AI Professional Certification, Project Management, Digital Marketing and Ecommerce, Data Analytics and other specializations. The structure of the program allows learners to select courses based on their interests, career goals and existing skills, giving them the opportunity to develop expertise across areas such as artificial intelligence, data, digital business and project management. By providing access to multiple specializations, the scholarship initiative is designed to give beneficiaries different pathways for developing professional capabilities and preparing for opportunities that require digital knowledge.
The Letter of Intent represents cooperation between a private sector digital transformation organization and the provincial government, with the scholarship distribution focused specifically on youth from minority and marginalized communities across Punjab. The signing ceremony brought together government representatives and Tech Valley leadership to mark the agreement and discuss the initiative. Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora chaired the ceremony, while Umar Farooq represented Tech Valley Pakistan as its Chief Executive Officer. Teams from both organizations were also present at the event. The collaboration reflects the involvement of government and industry stakeholders in initiatives aimed at increasing access to technology-focused education and professional development opportunities. Through the scholarship program, eligible youth will be able to pursue structured online learning across artificial intelligence, digital marketing, ecommerce, analytics, project management and related areas.
The initiative also connects with the wider focus on digital skills development and technology education in Pakistan, particularly as artificial intelligence and other digital capabilities become increasingly relevant across professional sectors. The 1,000 scholarships will provide learners from the targeted communities with access to established courses and certifications covering both technical and business-oriented disciplines. Tech Valley Pakistan and the Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Department are expected to work together under the Letter of Intent to facilitate the distribution of these opportunities across Punjab. With 14 specializations and 83 courses available through the Google Career Certificates Scholarships program, the initiative provides participating youth with flexibility in selecting learning paths that align with their interests and career objectives. The collaboration further highlights how partnerships between government departments and technology organizations can support broader access to digital education and professional certification opportunities for young people in the province.
