Tech Valley Pakistan will host an online session titled How AI Actually Thinks, aimed at explaining in accessible terms what happens when a person types a prompt into an artificial intelligence tool and waits for a response. The session is scheduled for July 24 at 3:00 PM and will be held online, with organizers recommending participants join using a laptop or larger screen to follow the visual explanations included in the presentation.
The session is designed to walk participants through core concepts behind how large language models process text, including tokenization, embeddings, self attention mechanisms, and prediction, breaking down the technical pipeline that converts a written prompt into a generated response. It will also address the recent shift in artificial intelligence systems from instant pattern matching toward more deliberate, step by step reasoning approaches, a development that has shaped how newer AI models handle complex queries compared to earlier generations of the technology.
Beyond the technical explanation, the session is intended to give participants practical techniques for improving the accuracy and relevance of AI generated responses, an area of growing interest as more professionals, students, and educators incorporate AI tools into their daily work. Organizers described the session as accessible to a general audience regardless of technical background, stating that anyone who has previously interacted with an AI chatbot already has enough context to participate. No coding or prior technical experience is required to attend.
Participants have been advised to bring an AI tool open in a separate browser tab along with a real world question they want help solving, allowing them to apply concepts from the session in real time. The session adds to a series of digital skills and technology literacy initiatives Tech Valley Pakistan has run in recent months, reflecting continued interest across Pakistan’s technology sector in building broader public understanding of how artificial intelligence systems function as adoption of these tools continues to expand across professional and educational settings.
