A 19-year-old from Taxila has created an innovation that could transform mobility for people with disabilities. Muhammad Subhan has developed a mobile application that allows a car to be driven entirely through hand gestures, using a specialized device installed inside the vehicle. By detecting finger movements on the phone, the commands are transmitted directly to the car, enabling control without physically touching the steering wheel.

Subhan explained that his project is designed with accessibility in mind, particularly for individuals who are unable to operate conventional driving controls. His system uses gesture-based technology to provide an alternative method of vehicle operation, which he believes could open new opportunities for those who have long faced barriers to independent mobility. He emphasized that with additional support from government institutions or the automotive industry, the technology could be further refined and potentially introduced into mainstream use.

Technology experts have praised the achievement as a strong example of youth-led innovation emerging from Pakistan. Subhan’s initiative not only addresses an important social challenge but also demonstrates the potential of local talent in creating impactful solutions for inclusive technology. Specialists note that such efforts highlight how accessible design and technological creativity can work hand-in-hand to address pressing mobility challenges, especially in societies where people with disabilities are often excluded from everyday opportunities.

The project has sparked wider interest in the possibilities of gesture-based applications in transportation and beyond. Observers suggest that continued investment in this type of innovation could position Pakistan as a contributor to advanced accessibility solutions in the global technology landscape. Subhan’s work shows how young innovators, when supported, can create tools that serve both local and international needs. For now, his car-controlling app stands as an impressive milestone in combining mobile technology with inclusive design, offering a vision of how digital tools can reshape lives.
