Chairman of SUPARCO, Muhammad Yousaf Khan, has expressed gratitude to the government for its consistent support and extended appreciation to both Pakistani and Chinese scientific teams for their successful collaboration on the HS-1 satellite project. He described the achievement as a reflection of the growing strength of Pakistan-China cooperation in space science and technology, crediting the dedication and technical skill of the teams involved in realizing this milestone. In a statement shared with the media, he highlighted that the HS-1 satellite represents a significant advancement in Pakistan’s space program and an important step forward in the country’s pursuit of technological self-reliance.

Muhammad Yousaf Khan emphasized that the successful launch of HS-1 marks a historic development in Pakistan’s space capabilities and stands as a testament to the progress achieved through collaborative international partnerships. He underscored that Pakistan’s involvement in the project demonstrates its expanding role in the global space community, with SUPARCO continuing to play a key role in advancing national objectives in technology, research, and innovation. He added that the joint effort between Pakistan and China has reinforced the spirit of mutual cooperation, trust, and shared commitment toward scientific progress and sustainable development.

The Chairman noted that the HS-1 satellite would contribute extensively to national development by supporting a variety of applications, including precision agriculture, environmental monitoring, urban planning, and disaster management. With its advanced high-resolution imaging capabilities, HS-1 will provide valuable data to improve resource utilization and facilitate more efficient planning and decision-making processes. The satellite is expected to enable more accurate crop yield assessments, track environmental changes, and assist in monitoring the effects of climate variations, allowing Pakistan to respond effectively to emerging challenges in these areas.

He further said that this accomplishment reflects the collective determination of Pakistani scientists and engineers to enhance the country’s presence in space technology while upholding standards of excellence and innovation. He reiterated that the HS-1 project symbolizes Pakistan’s progress toward a more sustainable and technologically empowered future, where space-based tools play a vital role in improving public welfare and national resilience. By integrating advanced satellite capabilities into critical sectors, Pakistan continues to strengthen its technological foundation, expand its scientific horizons, and contribute meaningfully to global efforts in sustainable development and innovation.
