Publisher Nacon and developer Cyanide Studio have made a limited-time demo of Styx: Blades of Greed available for PC players via Steam. The demo, approximately 17GB in size, offers the full first hour of gameplay, giving users a chance to experience the game’s mechanics and narrative from the very beginning. Players will take control of Styx in high-stakes missions, including infiltrating a massive golem from the inside and executing a zeppelin theft under the watchful eye of the Inquisition in the game’s first open environment, The Wall. According to developers, the demo provides a focused preview of the tone, systems, and level of freedom players can expect in the full game. Additionally, progress made in the demo will carry over to the full release, allowing players to continue seamlessly without replaying the opening hour.

Alongside the demo release, Nacon has opened pre-orders for Styx: Blades of Greed across all platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X. The Standard Edition, priced at €49.99, $49.99, and £44.99 on consoles, and €39.99, $39.99, and £34.99 on PC via Steam or the Epic Games Store, includes the base game and the Master of Shadows Skin from the first installment as a pre-order bonus. For those seeking additional content, the Quartz Edition offers early access for two days, the Greedy and Legacy skin packs for Styx and his weapons, a Starter Pack with two talent points and crafting resources, and five extra taunts to lure enemies, alongside the Master of Shadows Skin pre-order bonus. This edition is available at €59.99, $59.99, and £54.99 on consoles and €49.99, $49.99, and £44.99 on PC.

Nacon has also introduced a new Styx: Master of Stealth Collection bundle, which compiles the entire stealth series into one package. The collection includes 2014’s Styx: Master of Shadows, 2017’s Styx: Shards of Darkness, and the new Styx: Blades of Greed in its Quartz Edition. Prices for the bundle start at €69.99, $69.99, and £64.99 on consoles, with a slightly higher cost of €85.50 for the PC version on Steam. The collection offers fans and newcomers alike a convenient way to explore the evolution of Styx’s stealth mechanics and narrative arcs across multiple titles.

Early impressions of the demo suggest that Styx: Blades of Greed remains committed to a hardcore stealth experience, which may challenge casual players while offering dedicated stealth enthusiasts a rich sandbox environment. Reviewers have noted that the game significantly evolves the series’ formula, providing a breadth of options for approaching missions and navigating open environments. The combination of intricate level design, freedom in tactical decision-making, and continuity from demo to full game underscores Cyanide Studio’s efforts to refine and expand Styx’s stealth-focused gameplay. For players interested in testing their strategic skills and exploring a detailed stealth world, the demo offers a comprehensive preview ahead of the full release.
