A unique opportunity awaits photographers, filmmakers, and content creators in Karachi as Sony sponsors an exclusive workshop, “Storytelling for Business,” led by renowned photographer and filmmaker Zainab Nasir. Scheduled to take place on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Plaza Skillsrator, 172-S, PECHS Block 2, Tariq Road, this intensive four-hour session promises to enhance participants’ ability to craft compelling visual stories that resonate with corporate brands.

The workshop focuses on equipping attendees with the skills to create impactful narratives through photography and videography, aligning visual content with business goals. Zainab Nasir, who has an extensive portfolio and experience working with prestigious clients like the British Council, US Consulate, Business Insider, SOC Films, Mirinda, Jazz, and Shan Foods, will guide participants through various aspects of visual storytelling. Her expertise spans narrative work, commercials, documentaries, and web series, and her work has been recognized and exhibited internationally.

Participants will gain insight into the power of storytelling in marketing by exploring successful brand stories and understanding key narrative elements. The session will emphasize aligning a brand’s story with its core values to ensure authenticity and engagement. Attendees will refine their photography and videography techniques, with a focus on lighting fundamentals and hands-on practice with lighting and camera setups. Additionally, the workshop will cover producing dynamic social media content, offering tips on creating engaging short-form videos and effective editing practices.

An interactive activity will challenge participants to produce a short video or reel, applying the storytelling techniques learned during the session. The workshop will also feature a mock pitching exercise where attendees will practice presenting their creative concepts to corporate clients, preparing them for real-world scenarios and potential business opportunities.

Zainab Nasir’s experience in both national and international projects positions her as an ideal mentor for creatives looking to transition into corporate content creation. Her accolades include exhibitions at prestigious platforms like the Royal Overseas League and the Commonwealth Annual Meeting, while her films have been featured on international streaming services like Zee5. Currently a producer at Myco, an international OTT platform, she continues to work on a range of local and global productions. Beyond her professional work, Nasir shares her knowledge by teaching photography and filmmaking at various universities in Karachi.

The workshop is fully funded by Sony, reflecting the company’s commitment to supporting creative professionals and enhancing the quality of visual content in the corporate world. Seats are limited, making early registration essential for those looking to benefit from this rare learning opportunity. The event is particularly suited for photographers, filmmakers, students, content creators, and marketing professionals who want to improve their brand storytelling and visual media skills.
