Standard Chartered Launches Biometric App

Standard Chartered Bank Launches a biometric application which will be used to verify a bank holder’s account as per the requirements of the State Bank

 Standard Chartered PLC is a British multinational banking and financial services company headquartered in London, England. It operates a network of more than 1,200 branches and outlets across more than 70 countries and employs around 87,000 people. As one of the prominent banks, not only in Pakistan but internationally as well, SCB has a great stake in the banking sector of the country and is known to bring about innovations of how the banking sector is run in the country. Recently, the Standard Chartered Bank have announced the launch of a new SC PK Biometric application for their employees.

The Standard Chartered Pakistan Biometric Application is a system designed by the multinational company that will be used to cater to the requirements recently announced by the State Bank of Pakistan. The application was specifically designed to provide a verification method for all the clients or customers of any bank through a biometric system. To make this entire process more convenient for the users, SCP made the biometric application which will provide verification through the nation’s readily available database of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). In case any bank account holder decides not to authenticate their account through biometric verification, the bank account will be suspended as mentioned by the State Bank of Pakistan.

While operating this application, it requires a user’s CNIC, Cell phone number and a photo of the finger using a rear camera that will be used to verify the account of the user. By clicking on terms and condition the app verifies the authentic user.  The goal of this initiative is to use modern technology to facilitate the needs of the clients of Standard chartered. Via the use of the SC PK Biometric app, their customers can do just so at the comfort of their homes and with full convenience. The deadline of verifying the bank account is before 30th June,2019.
