Soneri Bank Limited has entered into a strategic partnership with Euronet Pakistan, a division of Euronet Worldwide (NASDAQ: EEFT), marking a significant advancement in the Bank’s digital transformation efforts. The collaboration aims to modernize Soneri Bank’s credit card and acquiring operations under a fully outsourced and managed services model, reflecting the institution’s continued focus on adopting global standards in payment technology. Through this agreement, Euronet will deliver an end-to-end card and payments platform that supports credit card issuance and POS acquiring with scalable and future-ready capabilities, enabling Soneri Bank to expand its presence in Pakistan’s evolving digital payments ecosystem.

The partnership will see Euronet host the card management and acquiring infrastructure on its PCI DSS–compliant platform at its advanced data center facilities in Pakistan, ensuring high service reliability, strong security, and adherence to global compliance benchmarks. The agreement also includes the implementation of advanced features such as tokenization and Google Pay enablement, allowing Soneri Bank to provide customers with secure, contactless, and convenient payment solutions. This integration will help the bank create a seamless omnichannel payment experience across both digital and physical channels, enhancing customer engagement and satisfaction.

By adopting Euronet’s managed services model, Soneri Bank aims to streamline operations, reduce complexity, and enhance scalability, enabling its teams to focus on innovation and customer-driven growth. The shift to a managed infrastructure approach will allow the Bank to introduce new products efficiently, maintain strong operational performance, and remain responsive to the rapidly changing digital payments landscape. The signing ceremony for the partnership was attended by senior executives from both organizations, including Muhtashim Ashai (CEO), Ahsan Mushahid (DCEO), Muhammad Salman (CIO), and Syed Amir Raza (CD&IO) from Soneri Bank, along with Kashif Gaya (CEO), Dawer Khan (Head of Development and Operations), and Faisal Amin (Head of Business Development) from Euronet Pakistan.

Muhtashim Ashai, CEO of Soneri Bank Limited, highlighted that the partnership with Euronet represents a major milestone in the Bank’s digital evolution, enabling it to deliver innovative and secure payment experiences to customers. He emphasized that the collaboration aligns with Soneri Bank’s vision of building a differentiated and customer-centric payments ecosystem. Kashif Gaya, CEO of Euronet Pakistan, stated that the company is proud to serve as Soneri Bank’s technology partner and that the alliance underscores a shared commitment to advancing Pakistan’s digital payments infrastructure through reliable, scalable, and cutting-edge technology solutions.

This partnership reflects a broader industry trend toward the digitization of financial services and the strengthening of Pakistan’s digital payments framework. With Euronet’s expertise in global transaction processing and Soneri Bank’s growing network and customer base, the collaboration is expected to drive financial inclusion, expand digital accessibility, and set a new standard for payment innovation in the country. By leveraging global best practices and local infrastructure, both organizations are working to empower consumers and merchants with secure, efficient, and future-ready financial solutions.
