Under the Google Career Certificates Sindh Program, Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) achieved a significant milestone as 300 of its students successfully completed their specializations through scholarships awarded by Tech Valley. This initiative has been a part of ongoing efforts to equip youth across the province with digital and professional skills that match global standards. By providing access to Google’s career certificate courses, the program enables students to gain in-demand competencies in fields such as data analytics, IT support, project management, UX design and other emerging areas crucial to today’s job market.

To celebrate the achievements of these learners, Secretary IT Sindh, Noor Ahmed Samoo, hosted a recognition ceremony that brought together key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors. Dignitaries from Google’s team attended the event, underlining the international collaboration behind the program. Their presence signified support for Sindh’s drive to create a workforce capable of meeting the demands of an increasingly digital economy. The event not only honored the hard work and dedication of the students but also emphasized how structured programs like these can open pathways to employment opportunities in both local and international markets.

This milestone also highlights the role of partnerships in accelerating digital skills development. Tech Valley’s contribution of 300 scholarships to SMIU learners represents a model for how industry players can work alongside educational institutions and government entities to address the skills gap. Participants at the event noted that such collaborations are essential for preparing students for jobs of the future, especially as Pakistan’s IT sector continues to grow and attract investment. By investing in young professionals’ training and certification, these initiatives contribute to the long-term goal of creating a sustainable talent pipeline for the technology industry.

Stakeholders and partners involved in the program have been encouraged to continue motivating their learners to complete their specializations on time. Organizers stressed that timely completion ensures maximum benefit from the training and increases the chances of employment or advancement in related fields. With hashtags like #TechValley, #GoogleCareerCertificates, #scholarships2025, #FreeScholarship, #SindhGovernment and #DigitalSindh gaining traction on social media, there is growing public interest in the outcomes of this initiative. As more students complete their certifications, the program is expected to inspire additional cohorts to enroll and succeed, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill enhancement in Sindh’s educational institutions.
