The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology at Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology is set to host SMEC 26 Speed Mind Execution Competition, a cocurriculum activity designed to bring together idea stage innovators and early stage startups under one competitive platform. Scheduled for January 14, 2026, the event will take place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at G Block Conference Room, SSUET. SMEC 26 aims to encourage students and young entrepreneurs to transform concepts into structured startup pitches while gaining exposure to mentors, investors, and incubation opportunities within the technology and innovation ecosystem.

The competition is positioned as a pitch deck focused forum where participating teams will present either a startup idea or an existing early stage startup. Each team will consist of two members, with an entry fee of 1000 per team. The organizing committee has emphasized that only one idea or startup submission is allowed per team and that all registrations must be completed within the announced deadlines. The event highlights multiple incentives for participants including a cash prize, access to incubation support, opportunities to connect with investors, and professional mentorship. These elements collectively reflect the growing emphasis on entrepreneurial learning and practical execution skills within academic institutions.

Participants will be required to deliver a concise and structured pitch deck that clearly outlines the problem statement, proposed solution, target market, unique value proposition, and business or revenue model. Each team will be given five minutes for the pitch presentation, followed by a question and answer session lasting between three to five minutes. Time limits will be strictly enforced to ensure fairness and smooth execution throughout the competition. All ideas and startups presented must be original and free from plagiarism, while offensive, illegal, or unethical concepts are strictly prohibited. The judges decision will remain final, and the organizing committee retains the right to amend the rules or event schedule if required.

SMEC 26 is organized by DOCS&IT and forms part of the department’s ongoing efforts to promote innovation driven thinking, critical analysis, and execution speed among students and aspiring founders. By providing a structured competitive environment, the event allows participants to test their ideas under real world evaluation conditions while receiving direct feedback from experienced evaluators. Students and innovators interested in participating or seeking additional information can follow updates through the official social media presence of SSUET SMEC on Facebook and Instagram, or reach out through the listed professional inquiry channel. The competition reflects SSUET’s broader commitment to nurturing future technology leaders and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship within the academic community.
