Sky47 Limited has announced a strategic partnership with Wateen Telecom Limited aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s high capacity digital backbone to support the growing requirements of data centers, cloud platforms and enterprise workloads. The collaboration reflects a shared focus on developing resilient and scalable digital infrastructure capable of meeting rising demand from enterprises, hyperscalers and public sector organizations across major urban centers. The agreement was formally signed by Mr. Hassan Abbas, Chief Executive Officer of Sky47 Limited, and Mr. Adil Rashid, Chief Executive Officer of Wateen Telecom, in the presence of senior leadership from both organizations, underscoring the importance of the partnership for Pakistan’s evolving digital landscape.

The partnership aligns closely with Sky47’s objective of building an advanced, AI ready data center ecosystem based on Tier III and Tier IV certified facilities. By working with a nationwide connectivity provider, Sky47 aims to accelerate the deployment of secure and future ready infrastructure that supports the country’s Cloud First policy and the increasing adoption of artificial intelligence, cloud computing and high performance workloads. The company views connectivity as a foundational layer for modern digital services, and the collaboration with Wateen is expected to enhance reliability, performance and scale across its data center operations. This approach positions Sky47 to address the needs of enterprises that require consistent uptime, low latency and robust security for mission critical applications.

Under the agreement, Sky47’s carrier neutral data center campuses in Karachi and Islamabad will be supported by Wateen’s high capacity fiber connectivity and advanced national backbone. Planned expansion into Lahore will also benefit from this integrated connectivity framework. In addition to fiber infrastructure, the collaboration includes enterprise grade MPLS services designed to meet the requirements of large organizations operating across multiple locations. By combining carrier neutrality with resilient network services, the partnership aims to provide customers with greater flexibility in choosing service providers while ensuring dependable connectivity. This integrated platform is intended to support a wide range of use cases, from cloud hosting and disaster recovery to data intensive AI and analytics workloads.

The collaboration reflects broader trends within Pakistan’s digital economy, where demand for localized data processing, secure cloud environments and high availability infrastructure continues to grow. Enterprises are increasingly seeking confidence that their digital operations can scale without compromising performance or compliance. By aligning data center capabilities with nationwide connectivity, Sky47 and Wateen are addressing these expectations through an infrastructure model designed for long term growth. The partnership also supports government and regulated sector requirements, where reliability and security are critical considerations.

Executives from both organizations highlighted that the agreement is focused on enabling customers rather than simply expanding physical infrastructure. By strengthening the underlying digital backbone, the partnership aims to create an environment where enterprises can innovate, deploy new services and operate with greater efficiency. As Pakistan’s economy becomes more data driven, such collaborations are seen as essential to supporting sustainable digital development. The Sky47 and Wateen partnership positions both companies as key contributors to the country’s infrastructure foundation, supporting a connected ecosystem that serves enterprises, service providers and public institutions operating in an increasingly digital environment.
