The Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sindh, has announced the Sindh Youth Science and Tech Festival, which will take place in Karachi on 28, 29 and 30 November 2025. The upcoming event has been positioned as a platform to encourage young people across Sindh to develop new ideas in science and technology while gaining an opportunity to present their work in a public and competitive environment. The festival aims to support creativity, scientific thinking and problem solving among the youth, building a space where participants can exhibit projects that highlight innovation and real world application.

According to the Directorate of Youth Affairs, individuals between 15 and 29 years of age who are permanent residents of Sindh are eligible to participate. Organisers have outlined a submission based entry process in which applicants are required to send a written proposal explaining their idea or project related to science or technology. The proposals will undergo evaluation by the department, and the shortlisted candidates will be invited to present and showcase their work at the festival venue in Karachi. The initiative is expected to draw strong interest from students, young professionals, researchers and hobbyists who are exploring solutions in emerging fields and seeking opportunities for broader visibility.

Participants will be competing for cash awards, with the first prize set at Rs. 100,000, the second prize at Rs. 75,000 and the third prize at Rs. 50,000. The department has encouraged timely submissions, noting that the deadline for entries is 15 November 2025. Proposals can be submitted directly or sent by post to the Directorate of Youth Affairs, Government of Sindh. The submission address is Sindh Youth Club, ST 42, Block 15, Abdul Asar Hafeez Jalandhari Road, Gulistan e Johar, Karachi. Additional details have been made available through the department’s helpline at 021 99333849 for participants who require guidance regarding the proposal format or evaluation process.

The announcement is supported by senior officials from the department including Sardar Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar, Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Sindh, and Munawar Ali Mahesar, Secretary of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department. Both officials have previously expressed interest in providing platforms that highlight youth led innovation in the province. The festival is intended to serve as one such effort, focusing on enabling young people to bring forward ideas that demonstrate their understanding of scientific concepts, technical development or practical applications that can benefit communities. The Sindh Youth Science and Tech Festival comes at a time when interest in science based learning and innovation driven initiatives is growing among younger demographics in the province. Events of this nature often support networking opportunities, exposure to mentors and access to audiences that include educators, industry professionals and government representatives. With prizes, structured competition and public exhibition space, the festival offers participants an opportunity to refine their ideas while contributing to a larger conversation about the role of science and technology in development across Sindh.
