Sindh Governor Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori announced a free IT education program for young people in Karachi. Over 50,000 individuals are currently enrolled, equipping them with valuable skills for the modern job market. Governor Tessori made the announcement at the “School in a New Light” event organized by Tech Valley Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of providing equal educational opportunities and revealed discussions with Tech Valley Pakistan to potentially offer Google certification to program graduates.

The initiative has seen early success, with students reportedly earning income within six months. This promising start has led Governor Tessori to plan an expansion to Hyderabad, where over 26,000 young people have already registered. He envisions extending the program to other cities as well.

The Governor underscored the program’s aim to equip young people with in-demand technological skills, increasing their global employment opportunities and uplifting their economic standing. He urged philanthropists and sponsors to contribute to this initiative, recognizing its potential to empower young people and contribute to Pakistan’s economic development.

This program represents a significant step towards bridging the digital skills gap and enhancing employment opportunities for Karachi’s youth. With plans for expansion, the Governor’s initiative has the potential to create a positive impact on a larger scale.
