The Sindh government has announced a comprehensive plan to automate examination systems and introduce e-marking across all provincial educational boards, in a bid to modernize administrative processes and enhance the transparency and reliability of academic assessments. The announcement was made by Minister for Universities and Boards, Muhammad Ismail Rahoo, during a ceremony organized by the All Sindh Private Schools and Colleges Association at Bahria Auditorium, Karsaz, Karachi, in celebration of World Teachers’ Day. The event was attended by Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, MPA Syeda Marvi Rashdi, Additional Director Rafia Mallah, chairpersons of various educational boards, as well as several teachers and students who gathered to recognize excellence in education and student achievement.
Minister Rahoo emphasized that the province’s new automation and e-marking initiatives will bring a significant shift in how examination processes are managed, aiming to create a faster, more accurate, and transparent system. He explained that with computer-assisted paper marking and digital tracking, the chances of human error would be minimized, ensuring timely and reliable results for students across Sindh. He further noted that the move aligns with the government’s broader goal of integrating digital technology in education governance, paving the way for eco-friendly operations, paperless workflows, and improved accountability within board systems. According to Rahoo, ongoing digitization projects are being closely monitored to ensure they are completed efficiently, while new reforms are being designed to curb cheating and other irregularities in examinations.
Speaking about broader education reforms, Rahoo highlighted that the Sindh government has recruited thousands of teachers based purely on merit and has expanded the number of universities to increase access to higher education for students across the province. He praised the dedication of educators, describing them as the foundation of a progressive and educated society, and encouraged collective efforts from all education stakeholders to further strengthen academic standards. The minister reaffirmed that the government remains committed to promoting both quality education and modern digital solutions that help make the system more responsive to the evolving needs of students and institutions alike.
During the ceremony, more than a hundred high-achieving students were recognized for their academic excellence and awarded shields and certificates, while outstanding teachers were honored for their long-standing contributions to education and their commitment to nurturing young minds. The event not only celebrated their achievements but also reinforced the vital role of teachers in shaping the province’s educational future. The Sindh government’s digital transformation of educational boards marks an important step toward a more transparent, technology-driven academic environment, setting a precedent for other regions to follow in advancing education through innovation and automation.
