ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja took part in discussions at the E Pakistan Hub during the Pakistan Governance Forum 2026, where she outlined the government’s priorities for strengthening technology enabled governance and accelerating Pakistan’s digital transformation. Her participation at the forum formed part of broader efforts to align policy direction with practical implementation as the country moves to modernise public sector service delivery through digital platforms.
During the session, the minister highlighted the importance of strengthening digital public infrastructure as the foundation for efficient and transparent governance. She stressed that robust digital systems are essential to improve coordination across institutions, enhance service delivery, and ensure secure and reliable access for citizens. Emphasis was also placed on accelerating the integration of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies into public sector operations, with the objective of improving decision making, streamlining administrative processes, and fostering innovation driven growth. The discussions reflected a policy direction that seeks to embed advanced technologies into governance frameworks while maintaining regulatory oversight and institutional readiness.
Another key theme of the engagement was the expansion of citizen centric digital services to ensure wider accessibility and inclusion. The minister underscored the need to design platforms that are responsive to public needs, simplify procedures, and reduce physical barriers to accessing government services. She also pointed to the importance of building institutional capacity to prepare Pakistan for future technological shifts, noting that workforce development, structured training programmes, and inter departmental collaboration are critical to sustaining digital progress.
The E-Pakistan Hub, established as part of the Pakistan Governance Forum 2026, served as a platform to bring together policymakers, technology leaders, and public sector stakeholders to align innovation with implementation strategies. Officials described the initiative as a step toward reinforcing the vision of a digitally empowered and globally competitive Pakistan by integrating policy formulation with practical digital solutions across governance structures.
