Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company (SECMC) has successfully transformed its procurement processes with the deployment of SAP Ariba, implemented by Integration Xperts. This milestone not only enhances operational efficiency but also plays a crucial role in connecting Thari vendors to global markets, streamlining procurement with pre-built integrations, and driving economic empowerment in the region.

As a key coal supplier to four Independent Power Producers (IPPs), SECMC has contributed significantly to Pakistan’s energy sector while saving over USD 1 billion in foreign exchange since its inception. The successful implementation of SAP Ariba demonstrates how world-class digital solutions can be seamlessly adopted, even in remote areas, ensuring more transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in procurement operations.

Integration Xperts played a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of this digital transformation. The team traveled to Thar to onboard local suppliers, facilitate adoption, and integrate the platform effectively. Their hands-on approach helped suppliers transition smoothly, enabling them to leverage SAP Ariba’s capabilities for optimized procurement.

The collaboration between SECMC, Integration Xperts, and SAP Pakistan underscores the power of cutting-edge technology in modernizing business operations. SECMC’s leadership team expressed appreciation for the expertise and dedication of Integration Xperts and SAP Pakistan in bringing this initiative to fruition.

This deployment highlights how digital procurement solutions can drive sustainable growth and operational excellence. With SAP Ariba now fully operational at SECMC, the company is well-positioned to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and create new economic opportunities for local vendors. The project serves as a model for businesses looking to leverage digital platforms for procurement modernization and broader market access.
