The website of the Punjab Public Service Commission crashed as applicants rushed to apply for lecturer jobs on portal due to a huge load on servers. The website was still not available at the first attempt at the time of writing but it was opening after a number of tries. It should be noted that the website design appears to be vastly obsolete and extremely unattractive compared to the recent new websites launched by NITB and PITB.

Candidates applying for a lecturer’s position complained that 8 September was the last day of applications, while when they went to the portal to apply, it crashed. Around 600,000 applicants applied for the posts, according to UrduPoint, but the website did not open yesterday.

Taking into account the difficulties faced by the candidates, the deadline for applications has been extended until 10 September 2020 and the following statement has been made available on the website: Certain candidates are unable to register for advertising numbers 22/2020, 23/2020 and 24/2020 due to network congestion on the PPSC website. In view of the current situation, PPSC has agreed to extend the date of submission of the proposal until 10/09/2020 A.M. Midnight for these advertisements.

Now all candidates applying for ads 22/2020 and 23/2020 will be able to submit applications until 10-09-2020 12:00 A.M. Midnight, but the deadline for ads 22/2020 and 23/2020 will remain 07-09-2020.

And applications can be submitted by all candidates applying for advertising 24/2020 until 10-09-2020 12:00 A.M. Midnight, although the closing date for advertising 24/2020 will remain 08-09-2020.

It must also be remembered that, at times during the announcement of results, Federal Board websites also crash under load. These problems mean that the government should either instal new servers or move all ministry websites permanently to a cloud storage service for better results.
